Not sure if this has been mentioned or not, so here goes:

  • As people gain XP, grant these as rewards:
    • Faster jobs
    • More efficient (ex. farmers yeild 2 plants instead of one)
    • Become masters and able to better teach fellow people
  • Ability to see "To next level"
  • Outfits change as they become "Masters"

Just my ideas... but so far love the direction it is headed!

Villagers can have traits already, like they can be homosexual and not reproduce, but i like the masters idea, and the "more efficient" is possible to work but i'm only giving my opinion, its rays that matters ;)

In a round-about way some of your suggstions exist already. :)

For example, higher level villagers gather and move fast. You should see level 100 villagers, they look like someone gave them 10 cups of coffee. The teaching idea also exists in a round about way, because their offspring inherits some of their stat points.

Also, with the new GUI scaling, I may be able to find some room for an XP bar now. :)

I'd Urge you to not make the villager's levels to defining. While a higher level villiager should obviously be better then a lower one, make sure that doesnt render the lower-level villagers obsolete (In fact far from.) You most likely already know this, but making too-much of a level differince might ruin the value of lower levels.

Yeah, there will be a noticeable difference, but the newbie-villagers wont at all be useless.

You'll be rewarded keeping them alive as long as possible (Higher level offspring, for example), but I don't want you to be completely crippled because you lose half your high level guys. I just want it to hurt, but not ruin the entire village. :)
