i exited the game normally and when i tried to reenter it kept on crashing on the same colony other colonies work fine

If still crashing after the stable branch update (unstable patch got some bug fixes and pushed to stable, both should be same build now) then with region selected on the world map, hold shift, and click the reset ai button that appears. That should fix it.

Also, recommend switching to steam forums for future issues, these forums aren't checked often due to lack of traffic and are due to be shut down whenever Ray gets around to it.
