After several days of playing Rise to Ruins it is time for some modding.

And what better way to start modding Rise to Ruins than to start off with a series of mods based on Lord of The Rings.

With the first mod well under way I am also looking at bringing in a series of maps based on Middle Earth with the first map being based around the area of Bag End in The Shire.

One of the first changes being made to the mob are to remove the headless and zombies and replace them with Goblins and Orcs.

I imagine this should be a relatively simple change.

If you play this mod as an Orc then the headless and zombies will be replaced by the Dwarves and Elves who do not like the Orc.

When you play this mod you will need to choose if you are playing as Middle Earth:

Elves

Hobbits

Dwarves

or Orc

When playing as the Orc you may be attacked by Dwarves and Elves..... haven't decided on that yet.

600 Elves, Goblin, Half Orc, Uruk-hai,  Orc of Mordor and the Uruk-hai of Isengard have been added to the mod.

At the moment I am adding in the sound of the Orc growling and roaring as they build their camp.

Yesterday I worked on the mod where you play the part of the Orc.

The Orc will now be attacked by not only Trolls but also by  Ringwraiths, Ring-wraiths, Black Riders, Dark Riders however you would like to call them.

For this mod I am going to refer to them as Black Riders.

For this mod while 9 of the Black Riders still hold each of the nine Rings of Power, Sauran has enlisted an entire army of Nazg├╗l to use fear to gain control of all who lived in Middle Earth.

The next step in this mod is changing the Corruption so it now becomes the location of Mordor which is where the Eye of Sauron and Mount Doom is located.

As  you can see in the picture below the background looks identical to the Corruption in Rise to Ruins.

So the aim of this mod is not only your survival but preventing Mordor expanding and the creatures and resources of Middle Earth falling to Sauron.

You will also notice that the mod name has now changed to   The Eye of Sauron

I am hoping somewhere in the mod to make reference to Frodo, Gandalf and the Fellowship of the Ring as they begin their journey towards Mordor.

After starting my mod in Rise to Ruins I setup my camp and immediately look for Mordor.

And this time it is not in the best of locations for me.

The great way about doing it this way is that Mordor will always appear on the map no matter which map you use.

My next step is adding in  the Eye of Sauron itself

As Sauron begins to expand Mordor's reach over Middle Earth you will see him add the Eye of Sauron followed by additional towers which are built so that the Eye of Sauron can see further.

When you look at taking out Mordor you will need to take out not only the Eye of Sauron but also the additional towers that increase the range of the eye.

In my gameplay I would take out the additional towers before destroying the original Eye of Sauron.
