[InDev 31e / Windows 10 Pro] - Yesterday's Save Is Now Corrupted

Yesterday, I launched the game after not having played it for months or years. I had just installed it again from steam and after launch, was prompted to either upload old files to steam cloud or download them. I think I downloaded the files from the cloud, as they were more recent, but I'm not entirely sure. I saw the old outdated profiles, deleted the first slot which was outdated, then made in new profile in slot 3 or 4. After playing for several hours, I saved and quit and went to sleep. Today, the profile now says corrupted profile. After looking online for a solution, it seems like steam cloud may be an issue. How can I disable steam cloud for just this game (as I use it for others) and how can I recover the profile if possible?

Copy paste of Ray's reply to a similar issue on steam forums:

 

If it happens literally every single time you turn on the game, it may be an issue with a third party application interfering with Java or RtR. What version of RtR are you running? You could try your luck running the Unstable/Beta branch, if you're not already.

As for the corruption itself; what are your specs, what third party apps are running in the background? You can try turning off your virus scanner, malware scanner, etc and see if it still persists.

 

 Log tells us the game version, at least.

Steam cloud should be disabled for this game, on the game's side, as there was an issue with it eating saves entirely. As far as I'm aware Ray hasn't reenabled it for the game.
