OS: Windows 10 Pro bit-64

Java version:  8 update 171

Specs: Intel Core i5 4670K, Nvidia GeForce GTX 750ti, 8gb RAM

I just purchased and installed this game, as soon as I open it a message pops telling me my version of java is not supported. An error ocurred while starting the application. Invalid window handle. I googled and browsed the forums a lil bit but anything I've tried doesn't work... from rebooting, closing all applications to free ram, to uninstalling, to opening core.jar and rtr.bat. The game window does open and I see the SixtyGig games logo but after that it stays as "Not Responding" and I have to shut it down from task manager.

Edit: If i change to windowed mode in the settings file it works.

But there has to be a way to play in fullscreen right?

I have the same error message but my log looks totally different.

I guess it's just the wrong error message for both of us.

Here's mine:

Arg, sorry for the slow response. The post-Summer Sale consumed a huge amount of my time, and most of it ended up spent on the Steam forums.

It appears you may just need to update your GPU drivers, but check out this thread for some more possible solutions:

https://steamcommuni...01877515063742/

If none of those help, let me know and we'll dig a bit deeper!

Hey,

I tried everything mentioned in the steam thread but nothing worked.

Updated every driver, ran the game without steam, closed every other program.

I noticed in the log it states I'am running Windows 8.1, but I'm on W10 Pro.

Specs: AMD Ryzen 1600

16GB DDR4 RAM

GTX 1080

I tried to attach my dxdiag report with "my media" but it's not working for me.

So here it is in a spoiler:

Hmm, digging deeper into it, it looks like the problem is OpenGL can't find a monitor in full screen. Are you on a multi-monitor setup? You might try unplugging one of the monitors and see what happens. Obviously that's not an ideal solution, but it would be a step in the right direction to see whats going on. :)

Good news is the next patch actually now has borderless full screen, so even if we can't get it to work in InDev 30, it should in InDev 31 just fine.

You can give the unstable branch a shot (instructions here), once installed, load up the game in windowed mode, go to settings and turn on full screen and set borderless to true, then cross your fingers! :)

Indeed I am on a multi-monitor setup.

Sadly disabling one of them didn't fix the issue =(

I'll try the unstable branch next.

The most annoying thing in windowed mode is that I click on the taskbar or somewhere else outside the game quite often.

Maybe you can implement some kind of "mouse catch" (can't remember the term^^) so that the cursor doesn't leave the window unless you alt+tab out of it.

EDIT:

With the unstable build it works like a charm.

Fullscreen and borderless window both work.

Thanks for the help ;)

Maybe you can look into the thread starters problem now, as I think it is kinda unrelated to mine, but has the same error message^^

Yeah I'm not sure who you're responding to haha but anyways, my issue is still there and still happening no matter what I do. All my drivers are up to date but the same thing keeps happening

Try updating Geforce Experience itself. There was a nasty bug with their Overlay and Shadowplay crashing OpenGL applications. It has since been fixed though. :)

If you have installed and running, try turning off OBS as well.

Nope, I verified and GeForce Experience is up to date, I also tried turning off Shadowplay and the Overlay etc... I have Streamlabs OBS but it's never running when I open the game.

Again, the message pops up but the game still opens, I see the SixtyGig logo moving and with the music but then after that the window just stays black and Not Responding and I have to shut it down via Task Manager, I left it running for like 10 mins this time just in case lol, I'm gonna throw the latest log in here maybe you can dig deeper on it idk, thanks for your responses so far anyways :) !

Try disabling your virus scanner, some virus scanners cause issues with Java applications (They want to scan every single tiny thing loaded into memory, resulting in the game "hanging"). :)

Nope, still not working. I have Norton Security, I disabled it but noting changes. Still the error message pops up and the game opens but no matter how long I wait it stays "Not Responding"  :(

Are you absolutely sure Norton was completely disabled? Some of the virus scanner's "standby" modes don't actually completely shut off the scanner. Have you let it just sit there for 5-10 minutes? If it loads after a *very* long period of time, it's likely still the virus scanner somehow or another.

You can also check around your PC for other apps, you may have a malware scanner trying to do the same thing. Almost-always when the game just hands at loading, it's a virus/malware scanner issue.

This is a bit shooting-from-the-hip troubleshooting, but you can try launching the game, and then going into your task manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC) click on the details tab, and see if any applications other than javaw.exe (javaw.exe being the game) are chewing away at processes. It may help you find a trouble maker.

To be honest, I'm quite stumped if it isn't your virus scanner. You have the specs to play the game, and there's no logical reason for the loading process to hang unless something is preventing it from loading resources.
